We are officially snowed in! Well, at least the girls and I are snowed in because I’m choosing to be snowed in. We got ten inches of snow over the weekend, and I’m sure I’ll have some fun snow pictures up soon. We really were snowed in yesterday because our street wasn’t plowed until 9:30 pm, and we had a great day. We tried our best to keep the girls moving from one thing to the next to eliminate the whole “girls are running around screaming and how are we ever going to make it until bedtime” process. We had a pancake and egg breakfast, played in the snow, baked cookies, the little girls took naps while Abigail and I snuggled (dozed) in front of a movie, then we made Christmas ornaments, took baths, and just had a good, snuggly, snow day. The best kind. The stuff memories are made of. Now we’re waiting on family to arrive in a couple of hours and looking forward to a sneak visit before we go home to visit the same family on Friday night.
On a different note, we kind of came to a decision last week. We’ve been in an interesting situation over the past year, in that all year we were toying with trying to move back closer to home. Clay has had resumes out to churches to try to achieve that. At the same time, his job here has not quite been meeting our expenses, and we’ve struggled somewhat financially. To make a long story short, we’ve now decided to put ministry and seminary on hold until we can get in better shape financially, which means now Clay is looking for a new job here in town, hopefully eliminating the two hour commuting time each day. It doesn’t feel good to know we’re going to remain six hours from family for a few more years, but it does feel good to know we’re settled for awhile and we can start investing in our community and church, and finally get rid of some of the boxes that have made themselves at home in my house for the past year and a half! Anyway, we appreciate your prayers during the job search (again!) and we’ll let you know when we’re celebrating that new job.
Have a great week, everyone.
