Top Ten Reads from 2016

In no particular order, and with no commentary (you can find short reviews for each title in the Books I’m Reading category), here is my top ten out of the 71 books I read in 2016:

1. Shadow of the Almighty, by Elisabeth Elliot

2. Uncle Tom’s Cabin, by Harriet Beecher Stowe

3. The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment, by Jeremiah Burroughs

4. Insanity of God, by Nik Ripken

5. The Help, by Kathryn Stockett

6. Brokenness, by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

7. Let Me Be a Woman, by Elisabeth Elliot

8. The Warmth of Other Suns, by Isabel Wilkerson

9. Crazy Busy, by Kevin DeYoung

10. Hind’s Feet on High Places, by Hannah Hurnard

These are the top for different reasons, and if I had read the same 71 books during a different year, I might have a different top ten. These are the ones for this year, at this point in my life, in the circumstances that were current, for the way they impacted me in the moment. I give each of them a hearty recommendation if you are looking to build your own reading list in 2017.

Shadow of the Almighty is on my list to read! I’ve heard it was very good.
